The Story Behind The Story

When my daughter was a toddler she had a fascination with princesses.  Every night before bed she would beg me to tell her a story that I made up about a princess.  So every night I would start the story with “Once upon a time, in a land far, far, far away,” and then I would make up some story.  One day I started the story, “Once upon a time in a land far, far” and I slipped and said, “fart away”.  My daughter stopped me and said, “What did you say?”  We both started to laugh hysterically.  From there we made up the following story together.   

Several years later, after reading the story to my 4-year-old son, my kids’ friends, and other family members (while everyone inserted their own sound effects), we quickly realized that everyone likes a little bathroom humor.
